2010 CCMA Fans’ Choice Award Nominees

The Canadian Country Music Association announced today the nominees for the 2010 CCMA Fans’ Choice Award: Gord Bamford, George Canyon, Doc Walker, Corb Lund and Johnny Reid.

Lacombe, Alberta’s, Gord Bamford’s, Honkytonks and Heartaches was named ‘Album of the Decade’ by Country Music News. In April, he released his latest album, “Day Job,” with the title track flying up the charts.

Two-time JUNO winner, George Canyon, received the CCMA’s Humanitarian Award in 2008 for his work with the Canadian Forces and his continuing work with children with type one diabetes, a condition he is also stricken with. George has had many top selling albums, his latest is entitled, "What I Do".  


Canada's reigning Group of the Year, Doc Walker filmed their first live concert special this week in Kelowna for fall airings on CMT and release on DVD. Doc Walker just had a top 5 single and #1 video with "I'm Going To Make You Love Me"


Six-time CCMA Roots Artist of the Year winner, Corb Lund was recently nominated in the Emerging Artist category for the Americana Music Awards. He will be performing on the Americana Honors & Awards show at the Ryman in September, before embarking on a headline tour of Australia for 2 weeks


Johnny Reid has seen his current album Dance With Me go platinum in just two months. In 2009 Johnny took home 6 awards, including the hardware for the CCMA’s Top Selling Canadian Album of the Year and the Fans’ Choice Award.

 

The winner will be announced during the CCMA Awards at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta on Sunday, September 12, 2010.
