Opposition parties went fishing for details of what will be in Tuesday's provincial budget.

But, Liberal leader David Swann and others got "skunked" in their quizzing of the premier and finance minister during Monday's first Question Period of the new session.

"What is the long-term plan to establish a stable, economic future for our province?", questioned Swann.

"The honourable leader of the opposition will have to wait until (Tuesday) for all the budget details," replied Premier Ed Stelmach.

Last week's throne speech indicated the Stelmach government will provide a five-year funding commitment for health-care, plus measures to keep Alberta competitive.

630 CHED will have live coverage of the budget starting about 3 p.m., Tuesday. (bp)
