First day of school

number of years ago when our baby boy Carter was going to school for the first time I wrote this about how his Mom was feeling that day. Years later as he starts grade 8 I don't think her feelings have changed much.
First Day Of School
Today life changed forever in our quiet 3 bedroom home Cause our baby boy went to school For the first time on his own
His Mom spent hours getting him ready for this very special day Everything now has his name on it cause it’s supposed to be that way
Like a pre game speech from the Coach all the things that he should abide Son always say please and thank you and remember don’t take a pee when your outside
I do feel sorry for his Mom today I see it in her forced smile She’s not quite ready to give him ...
September 1st is one of my favorite days

Today is not only the first day of school for my kids, it's my Daughter Baillie's "sweet sixteen". 9:19pm September 1st 1994 a little girl was handed to me in the delivery room of the Grey Nuns hospital and our lives changed forever. The day she was born I held her in ...

As I get set for the new challenge in the mornings and you get used to listen to different people on CISN at different times of the day...it does remind us that life does change. I found a really good example of it. Check out the things different graduating classes will see..or not see...
Class of 2014
Doctor Kevorkian has never been licensed to practice medicine.
The first computer they probably touched was an Apple II; it is now in a museum.
J.R. Ewing has always been dead and gone. Hasn't he?
Beethoven has always been a dog.
One way or another, "It's the economy, stupid," and always has been.
E-mail is just too slow, and they seldom -- if ever -- use snail mail.
Class of 2013
They have never used a card catalog to find a book.
Tattoos have always been very chic and highly visible. ...
Bruce

I've been working with Bruce Bowie for over 21 years. After already becoming a radio star he made the move to CISN a couple of months before I started. I was an 18 year old fat farm kid in awe of everything at the station, including Bruce, and much like a lot of Edmonton I grew up listening to him.
In fact when I was in Grade 7, my Teacher at the time Mrs.Burridge lived next to Bruce, and once our class got to write jokes for his radio show, and he even read my on 630 CHED. I was thrilled at the time, just imagine my thrill to get to work with him for all of these years.
He changed my life. When I was working overnights MANY years ago I was probably 100 pounds overweight, and Bruce encouraged me to start running. I hated running, but somehow he ...
