A couple of hockey things

So our Oilers are not going to make the playoffs. If you are not going to be able to go to any of the remaining games you can make a Kids life by donating your Oiler tickets to the Seats for Kids. You will even get a tax receipt for the value of the tickets. More details at

This is well worth the watch. As we watched it last night my Wife Karen said "these are all the men I find handsome"...I did point out I was not in the group.

Another amazing 2 days at the Stollery Children's Hospital. Thanks to our incredible listeners over 1.3 million dollars was raised. Based on a few factors it actually turned out to be a lot more money than last year. Thanks to everyone who was able to listen to the very emotional stories and if you gave you have made a difference....
Also..thanks to everyone who is helping with my quest to play in the Scotia Bank Pro Am for Alzheimer's. I am almost at my goal of $2000 and you can check out my page and all of the wonderful people who have given at this website..

Day one of Radiothon

I will be honest. Radiothon each year is 2 of the most difficult days of broadcasting we do. As I walk in the doors of the hospital before my first broadcast I have a strange feeling. As soon as I get in the Stollery and see all of my friends from past years and the new families I will meet it all makes sense again.
Today I talked to so many wonderful people including Tyson and Janna Turner who lost their 12 year old Son Spencer to cancer just before Christmas. Spencer just so happens to be one of my best friends Nephew. The fact that Tyson and Janna were willing to come and encourage others to give to the Stollery is a testament to what the Stollery does for kids and their families.
The bottom line is tomorrow is our last day this year and we will really ...

Yes March is here and according to Lifehacker.com says these are the things we should be buying in March.
Winter coats & sporting goods: The season to sell people warm coats, gloves, scarves, and other gear is right near the end, and to make room for the spring stock, stores are selling it all off at a discount. The same goes for snowboards, ski gear, and other winter activity accessories.
