Bullying is NOT Ok

Hey!
This morning we featured Livy Jeanne on the show with a special message about bullies and bullying. She herself was a victim of bullying and wants to get the message across that " You Dont Have To Be Invisible" .
I wish I had known Livy or at least known her message when I was in junior high. Still to this day - 15 years later- I can tell you the names of the people that teased me at St. Rose Junior High when I was 12.
BUT- theres another side as well. While I was bullied in junior high, I turned right around and was a "mean girl" in high school. Im certainly not proud about how I treated some people .

Chris, Sean & I Are Trading In Our Chairs!

Hey!!
This Friday- Chris, Sean & I will be turning in our studio chairs for Wheelchairs. Its all part of the initiative called "Chair-Leaders".
Throughout May , which happens to be Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, the Canadian Paraplegic Association of Alberta strives to raise awareness and funds for their vision of a barrier free future for all. So, as part of this, Chris, Sean & I will be in wheelchairs for the morning show. Im sure we all are really going to see the challenges and everyday struggles people that use wheelchairs face everyday. Things I know I easily take for granted.
If you would like to support us, its greatly appreciated. If you cant - no worries in the least! Just give the website a read and learn about what a barrier free future could look like!

Jacks Facts With Luke Bryan!

Hello!
I was lucky enough to meet Luke Bryan last night just before his acoustic perfomance at Oil City Roadhouse. Of course- I took the opportunity to ask him 10 Jacks Facts! He was quite the charmer and had some side comments that made me blush. This was def my favourite round of Jacks Facts and not just because he is simply dashing. Here's his answers:

Tonight marks CISN’s 30th Anniversary party- just the start of a great year to come! On the morning show I mentioned that I remember listening to CISN Country in the 90s – just waiting for that Cash Cow to “moo” at 7:20am. I would have the radio blaring, eating my cereal by the phone just waiting in anticipation. Even though I couldn’t win ( I was all of about 10 years old) – every morning I tried!
I also come from the generation of corny country music videos that I would watch CMT for hours on end for. Remember these gems? I still love them haha. Even when we play them on CISN- I feel the urge to grab a water bottle and sing along into it. I know- I’m so corny – but it’s fun to relieve your youth!

As many of you know, I used to be the anchor for Shaw TV here in Edmonton : ) Well now, they are launching a new series called "The Proposal" !
If you are thinking of popping the all important question to the love of your life - why not make it extra special and apply for the show? They are looking for couples here in the Edmonton area and can help you execute your plan or even help you think of a plan for the "big day" before "The Big Day"!
Another thing that I thought was really cool was that they are also offering the option to RE-Propose.....so if your first time wasnt as smooth as you had hoped - why not do it all over again ;).
