Now this is marketing...CFL Football
Posted 6/29/2008 12:12:00 AM

I am an absolutely huge sports fan, and a proud Canadian, two of my favorite things came together in a huge way with the latest ad campaign for the Canadian Football League. You may have seen the 90 second version if you watched any of the games this week, but there is a 4 minute version on the internet. If it doesn't at least leave you covered in goose bumps or even close to tears, you don't have a pulse. WOW...what a video!

Eskimos Vs. Riders....the bet
Posted 6/28/2008

Well, I have a wager going on with Matt a Saskatchewan roughrider fan. If the Eskimos win their game Saturday night against the Riders he will be standing outside the station for an  hour sometime monday all decked out in his rider gear, holding a sign of my choosing.
However should the riders win, he will win some prizes thanks to Mcdonalds, Universal music, the Edmonton Sun, and Wild Rapids waterslide park.

The audio of the bet is on the  right hand side. Anyone have sign ideas? : )

Edit: Congratulations Matt, looks like I don`t get to make you look goofy afterall. I`ll be eating crow on Sunday`s show, noon til six. Don`t miss it Rider fans!

Posted 6/27/2008

IIt's the weekend! Maybe your plans involve a roadtrip somewhere, or maybe even a road trip just for some food.

On Friday, I was filling in on the midday show and we were talking about the furthest you have ever driven for food. Got some hilarious responses such as:

-Port Hardy B.C to the US for Jack In the Box
-Edmonton to Nova Scotia for Lobster
-Fort Mcmurray to Boston for Chowder
-Nova Scotia to Boston for the bar 'cheers'
-Edmonton to Missoula Montana for sandwiches and iced tea
-Edmonton to Lethbridge for mexican food

What's the furthest you've driven for food?

Happy Fathers Day!
Posted 6/13/2008

Just wanted to say a quick happy fathers day to all the dads out there. They often don't get as much credit in raising their children as mothers do, but there are plenty of great dad's out there who live for their kids.

Enjoy your day Dads!

TV ads no longer confined to commercial breaks.
Posted 6/4/2008

has tv come to this? Apparently the tv network TBS is running a number of advertisements where they basically pause the show in the middle, say their ad...and then start the show up again. Even the small little thing in the bottom of the screen that says an upcoming show is an annoyance to me...but this is a little much...

Rachael Ray a terrorist sympathizer?
Posted 5/29/2008

A Dunkin Donuts ad in the US is causing a bit of a stir. The company has canceled an ad in which tv personality Rachael Ray wears a scarf that looks like a keffiyeh, a traditional headdress worn by Arab men. It got some talk show hosts talking and well it has caused alot of people to organize a boycott of the donut chain. But the buzz grew and by Tuesday, Dunkin’ Donuts decided it’d be easier just to yank the ad.

This video tells the story a little better

Wow, what a joke! Is this simply the US taking political correctness and patriotism too far? Could this happen in Canada? What are your thoughts?
