Beef Up Your Summer

1. THE CONTEST AND THE CONTEST PERIOD

Beef Up Your Summer contest (the “Contest”) commences at 5:30 a.m. MDT on June 26, 2008 and concludes at 11:59 p.m. MDT on July 20, 2008 (the “Contest Period”). The on-site draw will commence on Friday August 1st, 2008 at 12:01pm (MDT) and commence on Saturday August 2nd, 2008 at 9:00pm (MDT).

3. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to residents of Alberta, who have attained the age of 18 years prior to the commencement of the Contest Period, and who possess a valid Alberta driver’s licence, but excluding employees and directors of CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus Entertainment Inc. (“Corus”), any affiliate (as defined in the Canada Business Corporations Act) of CISN COUNTRY 103.9 or Corus (the “Affiliates”), McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited and its franchisees, and their respective employees, directors and officers (collectively, “McDonald’s”), employees, directors and officers of Universal Music, The Edmonton Sun, General Motors of Canada Limited, Alberta Chevrolet Dealers and Panhandle Productions Ltd. Operators of Big Valley Jamboree (collectively the “Sponsors”), employees, directors and officers of the respective advertising and promotional agencies of any of the foregoing, as well as family members of any of the foregoing. Family members means parents, siblings, children and spouse.


4. HOW TO ENTER AND HOW TO WIN

CISN COUNTRY 103.9, The Edmonton Sun, Big Valley Jamboree and Alberta Chevrolet Dealers are giving people an opportunity to win Big Valley Jamboree tickets and a chance to win the grand prize of a 2008 Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4x4.

There are two ways to enter the primary draw:
1) Visit www.cisnfm.com. Click on the “BEEF UP YOUR SUMMER” button, which will re-direct you to www.beefupyoursummer.ca. Click on the “Enter Here” button and complete the Beef Up Your Summer Ballot online.
2) Visit www.beefupyoursummer.ca. Click on the “Enter Here” button and complete the Beef Up Your Summer Ballot online.

Only one entry as described above per person per household is permitted during the Contest Period, provided that eligible entrants may also receive one entry in the additional on-site draw described below. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are reproduced, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

On Monday, July 21, 2008, CISN COUNTRY 103.9 will draw 31 names at random from all eligible entries received and contact each selected entrant by telephone. Once selected entrants have been declared winners in accordance with these rules, tickets will be couriered to each winner, if he/she cannot pick them up from CISN Studios located at 5204-84 Street, Edmonton, Alberta. If winners are unreachable or unavailable to accept the prize by 5:00 P.M. July 25, 2008, CISN Country 103.9 promotional representatives will randomly draw additional entry or entries based on the number of original winners unable to claim his/her prize.

Winners will receive two (2) – three (3) Day Adult Passes to the Big Valley Jamboree including a camping spot in the Family Camping Area (the “Pass Prize”). The approximate retail value of the Pass Prize is approximately $500.00. Winners are responsible for all costs and expenses incurred in claiming and using their prize. Without limitation, winners are responsible for their own accommodations in the campground. A lot will be reserved for each winner; however the winner will have to bring their own tent and/or recreational vehicle and meals.

Additional on-site draw at Big Valley Jamboree event: At the Big Valley Jamboree, between Friday August 1st, 2008 at 12:01pm (MDT) and Saturday August 2nd, 2008 at 9:00pm (MDT), eligible entrants (including those who already entered online but did not win a Pass Prize) may also enter by completing an official entry form (including a skill testing question and cellular telephone number at which they can be reached during the event) available at the CISN/McDonald’s booth in the Main Concert Bowl at the event and depositing it in the ballot box located there. A random draw will be held at approximately 9:30pm on Saturday August 2nd, 2008 to select one (1) additional entrant to be eligible to participate in the qualification for a chance to win the Grand Prize of a 2008 Chevy Silverado Truck, subject to correctly answering a mathematical skill-testing question and confirming their eligibility and compliance with these rules. Eligible entrants may submit a no purchase necessary entry for the onsite draw online from Friday August 1st, 2008 at 12:01pm (MDT) until Saturday August 2nd, 2008 at 9:00pm (MDT) at www.beefupyoursummer.ca/qualifyonsite. LIMIT one entry per person for the on-site draw, regardless of method of entry.

The entrant selected in the onsite draw will be contacted by phone on the evening of Saturday August 2nd before 11pm (MDT). Three attempts to reach the winner by telephone at the phone number provided on the entry form will be made with the final attempt by noon (MDT) Sunday August 3rd, 2008. If the winner cannot be reached or is unwilling or unable to comply in full with these rules, the onsite qualification will be forfeited and no further winner will be chosen. The winner must be available onsite at Big Valley Jamboree on Sunday August 3rd, 2008 between 4pm and 5pm (MDT) to qualify for the grand prize selection. If a “no purchase necessary” online entrant for the on-site draw is selected, and if and when that person is declared a winner by complying with these rules, that person will be required, at their own expense to travel to Camrose, Alberta to attend the Big Valley Jamboree Festival by 4pm (MDT) on Sunday August 3rd, 2008 to qualify for the grand prize along with the Pass Prize Winners (such person will receive a one day Adult Pass to the Big Valley Jamboree, approximate retail value $X). If you would not be available to travel to Camrose, Alberta for Sunday August 3rd, 2008, do not enter this contest.

Grand Prize selection: At the Big Valley Jamboree, at or around 5pm (MDT) on Sunday August 3rd, 2008 a random draw will be conducted between those thirty one (31) Pass Prize winners who have registered onsite at the CISN/McDonald’s booth by 5pm (MDT) that day and the one (1) onsite winner who has registered onsite at the CISN/McDonald’s booth by 5pm (MDT) that day to select ten (10) qualifiers. These ten (10) people will be invited on stage at a time to be determined on Sunday, August 3rd , 2008 and a random selection will occur to select one (1) entrant to win the grand prize of a 2008 Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4x4. Pass Prize winners and on-site draw winner must be in attendance to participate in the grand prize selection draw. Random selection may take the form of a “reverse draw” or other selection process as determined by the Sponsors in their sole and exclusive discretion.


5. THE GRAND PRIZE

The entrant who is named the winner on stage at Big Valley Jamboree on Sunday August 3rd, 2008 during the random selection will be awarded a 2008 Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4x4 (Available retail value/MSRP $40,520) (the “Grand Prize”). For the purpose of the promotion, the vehicle has been previously driven and therefore will not be at zero mileage and must be accepted as awarded as per section 12 of these rules.


6. THE GRAND PRIZE VALUE

The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize before freight, PDE and taxes is $40,520.


7. DEADLINE FOR CLAIMING GRAND PRIZE

The Grand Prize winner must claim the Grand Prize by 5:00 p.m. MT on August 15, 2008(the “Deadline”). If the Grand Prize winner fails either to claim the Grand Prize or inform CISN COUNTRY 103.9 of his or her inability to claim the Grand Prize before the Deadline, his or her entry will be forfeited and the Grand Prize will be awarded to the Prize Pass winner whose name was called second-last during the reverse draw. CISN COUNTRY 103.9 will contact such person by telephone, and provided such person claims the Grand Prize by August 15, 2008 (time to be determined between CISN Country 103.9 and winner) such person will be declared the Grand Prize winner. If such person does not claim the Grand Prize by August 22, 2008 (time to be determined between CISN Country 103.9 and winner), CISN COUNTRY 103.9 will repeat the notification process in accordance with the order of names randomly selected during the reverse draw, until such time as the Grand Prize is awarded to a Prize Pass winner who was in attendance at the reverse draw on August 3, 2008. If the Grand Prize is not awarded in accordance with these Contest Rules and Regulations, then the Grand Prize will be forfeited.


8. EXPENSES

The Grand Prize winner is responsible for paying for all expenses associated with acquiring ownership in the Grand Prize including, but not limited to, insurance, extended warranty, maintenance fees and fuel costs (the “Expenses”). The Grand Prize winner understands that he or she may not seek reimbursement for the Expenses from CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus, the Affiliates, McDonald’s, the Sponsor(s) or their respective advertising and promotional agencies.


9. CHANCES OF WINNING

Chances of winning a Pass Prize depend on the total number of eligible Contest entries received in accordance with Rule 4. Chances of winning the on-site draw for the right to participate in the random selection for the grand prize will depend upon the number of eligible entries received for that draw. Chances of winning the Grand Prize depend on the number of persons who participate in the random draw and subsequent on-stage selection on August 3rd, 2008, including Pass Prize winners and on-site draw winner, but will be at least 1 in 32.



10. DECLARATION AND RELEASE OF PASS PRIZE AND GRAND PRIZE WINNER

Before being awarded a Pass Prize or the Grand Prize or, for the on-site draw selected entrant, the right to participate in the grand prize selection process, all selected entrants must:
a) Correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited skill-testing mathematical question; (which will be administered by telephone for the Pass Prize winners and in person for the Grand Prize winner and on-site draw winner); and

b) Sign a standard form confirming that:
- he or she read, understood and accepted these Contest Rules and Regulations;

- that he or she understands that acceptance of the Pass Prize and/or the Grand Prize may involve danger and/or exposure to risks and hazards of both man-made and natural origin, whether arising from foreseeable or unforeseeable human error and negligence, and that, as a result, he or she may suffer damage to personal property, serious personal injury, illness or even death;

- that he or she nevertheless freely and voluntarily agrees and does hereby assume any and all risks of personal injury, illness, death arising out of or connected with his or her participation in the Contest and winning the Pass Prize and/or the Grand Prize; and

- that he or she releases CISN COUNTRY 103.9 Corus, the Affiliates, McDonald’s, the Sponsors, and all of their directors, officers, employees, agents as well as their respective advertising and promotional agencies (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all liability arising in connection with participation in the Contest and acceptance of the Pass Prize and/or the Grand Prize, including, without limitation, any financial, legal or moral responsibility or loss or personal injury including death or damage to or loss of property suffered or incurred or arising from participating in the Contest or accepting the Pass Prize and/or the Grand Prize, whether suffered by the Pass Prize and/or the Grand Prize winner, or by his or her heirs, administrators, personal representatives or executors, and notwithstanding that such injuries or losses may have been caused solely or partly by any act, omission, negligence or gross negligence of any or all of the Releasees.

Persons (or the parents/legal guardians of any legal minors) who accompany the Pass Prize Winners to the Big Valley Jamboree must also complete and return a liability and publicity release before tickets or other components of the Pass Prize will be awarded.

Participants eligible for the grand prize selection may be required to sign additional release documentation and answer a skill-testing question as ‘pre-qualification’ before the final selection process occurs.


11. PRIZES TO BE ACCEPTED AS AWARDED

The decision of the Contest judges is final, and all prizes must be accepted as awarded. No portion of any prize is transferable. No prize is redeemable for cash and no substitute for any portion of any prize is offered. Should any prize winner be unable to claim any prize as awarded, his or her entry will be forfeited and another eligible Contest entrant will be selected in accordance with these Contest Rules and Regulations.


12. NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES

Neither CISN COUNTRY 103.9 nor Corus nor any of the Sponsors makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of any prize awarded in this Contest, including the Grand Prize. Each prize winner, including the Grand Prize winner, understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus, the Affiliates, McDonald’s or any Sponsor should any prize, including the Grand Prize, fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any other way unsatisfactory to the prize winner.


13. SUBSTITUTION OR CHANGE TO THE CONTEST

CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus, the Sponsors and their respective advertising and promotional agencies reserve the right to substitute any prize in this Contest, including the Grand Prize, or any component thereof, for one of approximately the same value and reserve the right to change these Contest Rules and Regulations or terminate or withdraw the Contest at any time, without prior notice.


14. OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES

All entries shall become the property of CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus, the Sponsors and their respective advertising and promotional agencies. The Releasees assume no responsibility for delayed, not received, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, lost, stolen, destroyed or otherwise indecipherable entries due to any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone network, on-line computer systems or equipment, servers, access providers, software, poor reception, technical problems, failure of any email or submission or due to any other reason regardless of cause. CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus and the Sponsors reserve the right to cancel or modify the Contest if, in their its sole discretion, they determines that the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned for any reason (such as tampering or infection by computer virus, fraud, technical failures, printing or distributing errors, or any other causes or occurrences have compromised the fairness or integrity of the Contest).


15. CONSENT TO USE OF PERSONALITY

By entering the Contest, each entrant, including each prize winner and the Grand Prize winner, consents to the use of his or her name, city of residence, photograph, voice, likeness, image or any other aspect of his or her personality, and the whole or any part of any statement, for any publicity and programming purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus, the Affiliates, McDonald’s, the Sponsors, promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies, without any further notice, approval, payment or compensation. Each prize winner, including the Grand Prize winner, further agrees that his or her audio reaction may be used for on-air promotional purposes. The entrants understand and acknowledge that CISN COUNTRY 103.9 may contact him or her on-air without prior knowledge as a result of his or her participation in the Contest.


16. CONSENT TO COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

By entering the Contest and voluntarily providing personal information including, but not limited to, name, address, city, email address, home and office telephone numbers (the "Registrant Information"), each Contest entrant grants permission to CISN COUNTRY 103.9 and Corus to the collection and use of the Registrant Information for the exclusive purpose of administering the Contest and selecting the prize winners. No correspondence will take place between CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus and the entrants except in connection with the Contest and, in the case of the prize winners, as a result of entering the Contest and winning a prize. Where a Contest entrant opts-in as provided on the Contest entry form, General Motors of Canada Limited and/or The Big Valley Jamboree will also retain the Registrant Information and may contact Contest Entrants, either directly or through a third party agent or service provider, from time to time, with respect to future products and events. 18. COMPLIANCE WITH CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

All entrants agree to abide by these Contest Rules and Regulations, which are subject to change at the sole discretion of CISN COUNTRY 103.9, Corus and the Sponsors.


19. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations of Canada and of each province, territory and municipality of Canada, respectively.
