As we continue to deal with the loss of Tragically Hip frontman and legendary Canadian, Gord Downie, tributes keep pouring out. It’s incredible to see all the stories of how he impacted people lives. Brings a tear to my eye. I said it on the day we found out Gord had passed, but it feels like we lost a little part of Canada.
As we look back, one thing I think I’ll never forget is where I was when The Hip played their last show in Kingston. It was an emotional moment for the entire country. 21 million people watched as Gord gave us the send off we didn’t deserve. And as they played “Ahead By A Century”, their final song ever, cameras rolled at watch parties all over and caught something pretty special.
Since the day of his passing, more and more people have been reaching out and celebrating his life. And the vigil continues in his home town in Kingston, Ont.
Rest easy Gord, we’ll miss you
