We’re an absolutely delicious city.
#yeg, I just want to eat you up.
Air Canada’s enRoute magazine agrees, as they released their list of Canada’s top 10 new restaurants and 3 yummys from Edmonton have made the list!
Businesses launched between late Spring 2016 and June 2017 are eligible, here’s a little more on how they find our Nation’s best new places to eat!
Air Canada sets out in search of the top dining experiences from coast to coast. Restaurants don’t know they’re being reviewed, and get just one shot to make an impression. To ensure that our food writer gets the experience of the average diner, enRoute keeps it old-school, making reservations under a fake name and paying for all expenses.
How do I get that job? I can write about food and stuff.
I can’t wait to get out an try all three of these spots!

#5 – Clementine – 11957 Jasper Ave – barclementine.ca
The trio known as Volstead Act present a not-quite-French bistro-on-the-Prairies full of pleasing twists and turns. Case in point: The duck breast comes with oven-crisped leeks and shiitakes, in a duck broth unexpectedly spiked with Korean gochujang.
This weekend's Sunday brunch will be a special one, as it will be our last brunch of the season. We are excited to announce that, beginning at the end of this month, we will now be open Sunday evenings for dinner service. Thank you to everyone who has stopped in for brunch over the summer, and keep your eyes peeled for a special announcement regarding our first Sunday dinner launch. 📷:@allywcchan
#6 – Cafe Linnea – Holland Plaza, 10932 119th St – cafelinnea.ca
Experience an almost magical way with eggs by day. By night, sip a smoky dry cider from Brittany and cut into an impeccably seared pork chop partnered with creamed stinging nettles. Yogurt pannacotta spritzed with St-Germain is a choice closer, noon or night.
#10 – Alder Room – 10328 Jasper Ave – alderroom.ca
Begin your evening snacking on quail eggs rolled in vegetable ash, marvel at more than a dozen inventive courses from the brick hearth and don’t miss outlandish housemade juices like Anjou pear, horseradish and black trumpet mushroom – the result of tireless experimentation at the juicing hands of chef Ben Staley.
Okay…my guess is you should start calling these joints now, they’re gonna be swamped! Congrats to the trio of Edmonton locations, and the rest of Canada’s best new restaurants!
