Starting tomorrow you can find this light up playground at 96 Street and 102/103 A Ave in the Quarters neighborhood and it’ll be there until the 30th.
It’s family friendly, free and open 24 hours. Depending on when it gets dark in the next week, you might be able to take the kids when everything is all lit up, or maybe use this as a unique first date idea? Imagine those Instagram pics! It’s all part of Edmonton Design Week and “consists of 15 see-saws connected to LED lights and a speaker. When in motion the see-saws emit a unique sound sequence, developed by artist Mitchell Akiyama, and begin to glow. The result is a dynamic and ever-changing soundscape and light show.” according to makesomethingedmonton.ca

There will also be an innovation called “Loops” which are “A cross between a music box and a zoetrope — an optical toy that preceded animated film — Loop consists of six two-metre wide cylinders. Users sit in these cylinders and, using a railway handcar mechanism, bring music and fairy-tale images to life.”
