After hearing about Edmonton’s new ” accidental beach ” we decided to check it out for ourselves this week!
Chris, Matt & I laughed on the show about people describing it as Edmonton’s “Puerto Vallarta” ……..But I can honestly say I get the comparison!!
We had a blast ! The sand is soft and the beach itself is huge ! Way bigger than I thought it would be. The water was clear and although a little cool at first – very easy to get used to.
I only went up to my knees but Bobby and our friend Kody went all the way in – a warning that they did say the current was quite strong!
OK! So HOW to get there!
It’s a bit tricky as it’s a busy area of Cloverdale and parking can be sometimes a bit scarce. Haha there mighhhhhtttt have been a small car fight between Bobby and I on where to park on the way there lol. But it’s definitely worth it.
Try to park on 91st or 92nd street and walk across the crosswalk to the paved path. There is a single path to the river access – it’s a bit steep to get down to the beach but not too bad- we did it with Kennedy!
Can’t wait to hear about your beautiful day at Edmonton’s new beach. They are nicknaming it “Accidental Beach” and I like it! I think they should keep it ! You’re gonna love it……..I’m so excited to go back!
