Yesterday, the country world cried together, as Glen Campbell passed away at the age of 81. As you can imagine, tributes and goodbyes poured in over social media and continue to do so…here’s what his daughter Ashley had to say.
Keith Urban had a hard time saying goodbye to one of his biggest role models in music
“What a powerful artistic and personal journey Glen Campbell’s passage has been. As a role model, singing guitar player he was a big influence on me. I love Glen for so many reasons – but above all, for his humanity. My thoughts and prayers are with Kim and all of his extended family today. May peace be with you all. Go rest high on that mountain, Glen.”
Here’s how the rest of the country world said goodbye to a legend, trailblazer and a friend

I think a lot of people may not realize what a huge international star @glencampbellofficial was during his time in both pop and country music. He had many timeless hits that will never be touched. He also was a great musician and great singer who played on a lot of music before he became THE Glen Campbell. I will always feel like I owe Glen a lot of gratitude – he was my first contact in Nashville when my wife, Denise, was a flight attendant. She met him at the airport and he gave her his business card for his publishing company. This connection lead me down the path that brought me to where I am today. RIP #RhinestoneCowboy Alan and Denise Jackson
When I was 10, I made my first live performance at Glen Dale Methodist Church, singing 2 songs. One of them was "Try a Little Kindness", by Glen Campbell. I'm certain I wouldn't be here without his influence. Any of you unfamiliar with his music, go check it out. The ultimate singer, picker, actor, tv star, legend. One of the faces that belong on our Mt Rushmore. We'll do the remembering now Glen.
We lost one of the greatest voices, guitar players and entertainer that our world has ever seen. Glen Campbell. It seems this year has been filled with these moments where we've lost people that have enriched our lives with their pure talent. This is a huge loss for country music. Maybe Glen and Merle are picking a tune together right now. If so, I bet my Grandad is right there with a front row ticket. Life is short. Enjoy it while it's here.
