I REPEAT: THE GOATS ARE HERE!
Back in June, the City of Edmonton announced the fluffiest, most cuddly and adorable pilot project EVER! We’re getting goats!
Today, the first of those goats arrived!
Rundle Park will now be the temporary home to this herd that they hope will help control noxious weeds – press play!
Now, before you start fan-girling over the goats like I am…the City has a few things they want you to know!
As the goats munch away, remember these tips to ensure you give them the space to do their job!— YEG Parks (@yegparks) July 14, 2017
The fence will be electrified with a gentle current to keep the goats from roaming away from the area. Keep your distance from the fence.— YEG Parks (@yegparks) July 14, 2017
Dont feed the goats! They have enough leafy spurge and other noxious weeds to munch on. We don’t want to spoil their appetite— YEG Parks (@yegparks) July 14, 2017
Please keep all your dogs on a leash in the area. There will be herding dogs off leash and working to protect and herd the goats— YEG Parks (@yegparks) July 14, 2017
Herding dogs too?! I didn’t think this project could get any better!
Public meet and greet events will be held in August and September; watch for more information in mid-August.— YEG Parks (@yegparks) July 14, 2017
Now that’s a meet and greet I’d gladly get in line for!
