There have been rumours floating around for a week or two now that “Rosanne” would be the next show to get a big reboot! Well they’re not just rumours anymore, ABC announced they’re bringing back the sitcom, that won 17 Emmy awards, in 2018! Apparently ABC and Netflix were in a bidding war over the shows return, with ABC obviously ultimately coming out on top.
“We’re rebooting Roseanne. It is planned for the midseason. We’re still at the early stages.” says ABC network president Channing Dungey. Apparently it’s coming back as an 8 episode series focusing on the family trying to deal with “the economic challenges of living pay check to pay check in 2018.”
For the most part it sounds like most of the stars will be returning for the revival. No word yet on how they’re going to deal with the fact that Dan actually died in the series…but I guess we’ll find out. There will also apparently be some sort of twist with Becky. We also know that Johnny Galecki hasn’t signed on for it and probably won’t because of his job on “The Big Bang Theory.” If you want to see who else hasn’t signed on yet go here.
