Ouchie. The Oilers lost last night and they are out of the playoffs. You’re probably feeling a bit down right now…….
….but its ok!! Here are some things you can do today to get instantly happy! 😀
1.Find a Dog
Its a proven fact that dog ( especially puppy!) cuddles make you smile ; so find the nearest dog and get right in there…..just make sure they are friendly!
2. Light a Vanilla Candle
Boys this may nto be the most “manly” thing to do today – but just the scent of vanilla is proven to uplift spirits in no time.
3. Get OUTSIDE
Today – take a walk for lunch. Especially today with sunshine in the forecast! Studies have shown that getting out for a brisk walk – even for 10 minutes- drastically improves your outlook on the day.
4. Call your Mom
This is not just here because Mothers Day is this Sunday haha! When you talk to your mom – subconsciously you start to feel more at ease. She took care of you all those years – give her a call and let her comfort you again! Even if you’re 30…….
5. Fake It Till You Make It
Just smile. Even if you don’t feel like it. When you see someone smile – don’t you feel like smiling back? So keep the grin on your face and suddenly you will start to see people smiling back at you. Pass on the happiness!
6. Treat Yo-Self!
Love ice cream? Just eat it. Not the whole tub mind you – but treat yourself to a little! So often we are holding ourselves back . Not today. Indulge and revel in the instant happy you feel! This not only applies for food! Maybe there is a sale on at your fav store – Bath and Body Works anyone?? Buy a candle and slip away!
7. Sleep it Off
Speaking of indulging…..just kidding!! But getting a good rest makes everything seem better. You probably stayed up late last night – go to bed early tonight. You will be amazing in the morning. Or at least a little better.
8. Raid That Citrus Aisle
It’s proven that smelling and eating citrus ( think oranges) can improve your mood! When you take a big whiff- citrus can help keep stress and anxiety at bay. Plus it helps with digestion.
9. Make Plans With Your Friends This Weekend
Something to look forward to. Enough said.
