Fisher passed away December 27, 2016 after going into full cardiac arrest on a flight from London to LA. She was best known for her role as Princess Leia and reportedly had finished filming her scenes for “The Last Jedi” before passing.
Her brother Todd also confirmed last week that she will be in the final Star Wars movie Episode IX, even though filming hadn’t even started before she passed. “She’s as much a part of it as anything and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi Wan — when the sabre cuts him down he becomes more powerful,” Fisher said. “I feel like that’s what’s happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue. I’m not the only part in that equation, but I think the people deserve to have her. She’s owned by them.” Apparently they won’t use CGI, but footage that has already been shot to keep her in the film.
