For the second time during our tour we were able to partner with @theindependencefundinc to provide an all-terrain wheelchair to a #woundedveteran. Truly blessed to be able to present a chair to retired Army Staff Sergeant Shane Savage. The Independence Fund is doing great work y'all. Check ‘em out at www.independencefund.org #digyourroots
“I got an invitation from Independence Fund to go to the concert. I thought I would just be attending a concert and then four days prior they contacted me and said, ‘Hey, Florida Georgia Line wants to do a presentation with you and donate the chair directly to you at the concert.’” says retired Army Staff Sergeant Shane Savage. He lost his leg in 2010, during a tour in Afghanistan, after driving over an IED.
“To be able to represent my fellow amputees and fellow veterans and to be able to do that on national TV is such an honor to be able to do.” Read more on the story here
It’s actually not the first time Florida Georgia Line has done this, they had a similar surprise for retired Army Sgt. Seth Kotouc a few weeks ago!
We teamed up with @theindependencefundinc tonight in Oklahoma City to give a #woundedveteran an awesome all-terrain wheelchair! Meeting Retired Army Sgt. Seth Kotouc was an honor and hope he enjoyed the show as much as we enjoyed hanging out with him and the Independence Fund team. Looking forward to hangin’ with more heroes at upcoming shows. #digyourroots
