If you were lucky enough to go to one of Garth’s 5 shows at Rogers Place over the long weekend, you know it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Nobody sits down, it’s insanely loud from start to finish and somehow Garth never seems to get tired!! At the end of every show, Garth finishes with what he calls the “house cleaning.” He looks for your signs and plays bits of songs he didn’t get to during the main show. Saturday afternoon, he noticed a couple who’s sign said they were celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary. He played “The Dance” for Ike and his wife Gail…but unfortunately she wasn’t there for the song!! Some were saying she had gone to the bathroom, but we talked to her daughter Lana and got the real story.
Even though Ike and Gail missed their opportunity to dance during “The Dance” Saturday afternoon…they made up for it!
They might not be able to take the trip…but what other artist would even offer that!? Garth doesn’t just touch people with his music, but with his generosity towards fans and complete strangers. He’s been doing this his entire career and that’s why he can sell out 9 straight shows here in Edmonton after being gone for over 20 years. It’s also why he’s got this kind of impact on his fans. Here’s what happened when Erin, Kristin, Tanis and Chris got to meet Garth and Trisha this weekend.
