Marty Enokson has always put others needs before his own. Just last month he and his daughter helped raise almost $2,000 in gifts for 2 low-income families. “I live paycheque to paycheque. I understand it. I’ve never had to go to the food bank, but I know these families have. I don’t want to see anyone in need at Christmas.” His 17-year-old daughter nominated him for the “Kingsway Gift of Kindness” award, which is awarded to someone who goes above and beyond for the community. Friday night, as Marty was celebrating is 50th birthday, he was ambushed with the good news!
In true Marty fashion, he’s already got plans for that newly acquired $5,000, but he won’t be using it on himself. He’s using it to help with his daughter’s post secondary plans. “I live for my daughter. I live for my kids. She’s 17 and she’s graduating. I’ve got to take care of those things. I’m a single dad. It’s just got to be done.”
Huge shout out to Kingsway Mall for making this happen!
