If you’re having a hard time getting in the Christmas spirit this year…maybe these will help! There’s nothing better than going out on a frosty night in December, maybe a coffee in hand, while you check out beautiful Christmas lights.
The CP Holiday Train will be in Edmonton December 8th from 7:30-8:45 and Dallas Smith will perform!
I ALWAYS hear about how fantastic Candy Cane Lane is…so this year I’m finally going to check it out. Bundle up and head down to 148 Street between 100 Avenue to 92 Avenue starting December 9th
Also starting on the 9th is Zoominescence, A Festival of Light! “Each December, Zoominescence, a Festival of Light, hosted by the Valley Zoo Development Society, stages a spectacular exhibition of artistic light installations within the unique setting of the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The festival’s vision is to celebrate light, artistry, imagination and the strong spirit of our community in the winter.”
Churchill Square and The Leg are always great places to go for a stroll while checking out the beautiful light displays. The official lighting at The Leg starts Tomorrow around 4:30!
I just heard about what the Devonian Botanic Garden does for lights and it sounds like it’ll be beautiful! “This popular event ignites the festive season with thousands of candles along the paths of the Kurimoto Japanese Garden in a breathtaking display – a quiet oasis of peace and light. Visitors can count on their favorite elements: a stroll through the candle-lit pathways, hot apple cider beside the bonfires, ice sculptures, delightful “snow sprites” and the seasonal sounds of strolling a capella singers. Let the little ones run through the Snowlight Maze; make a wish and hang it on a Wish-Upon-A-Star Tree, enjoy hot food and beverage options. As always, a special Memory Lane will be available for visitors who would like to light a candle in honour of a loved one, by donation. Handmade natural decorative gifts and treasures will be available at the Crafters Workshop and the Shop-in-the-Garden will also be open.”
