CISN Listeners are truly the best. As you probably know – I am expecting a baby in November! Ever since I announced the happy news in June – many listeners have reached out and offered their advice ( THANK YOU! ) and even baby gifts.
A teacher from WP Wagner School, Courtney, recently got a hold of me and let me know about an incredible project that her and her class are doing and I think we’re all going to want to get on board. Its called:
“Sleepers (Onesies) for The Stollery”
Each year, there are more than 150,000 patient visits to The Stollery. So many newborns and preemies are admitted and are in need of special sleepers as “normal ones” don’t have the right holes for the wires and sensors needed for these little ones!
That’s where we all come in. Courtney and her class are asking for brand new sleepers with tags attached, in preemie or newborn sizes . They must have snaps (not zippers) and be cotton (not fleece). They convert them into sleepers that will work for the little ones at the Stollery.
So I ask this of you – if you want to do something amazing this week; if you’re in need of an act to warm your heart and others; or you want to be super generous and buy a gift for Baby Sweeney – pls pls drop off a brand new sleeper here to the station 5204 – 84street for the lil guys at the Stollery!! The Stollery babies will benefit from your generosity WAY more than Baby Sweeney will! 🙂
