As I’m now officially 33 weeks –all the wonderful things about being pregnant–are still wonderful but also a bit painful!!!
Wanted to share with you a few things that are saving my BUTT when it comes to lovely pregnancy symptoms – and hopefully you’ll share with me some of your secrets!!!
First and foremost for me – HEARTBURN!!! I’ve never had it in my life…and until Wk 30 – I was free and clear…..well NOT ANYMORE. It’s awful – if you have it – you know it too- you literally wake up feeling like you just ate fire. Then you go through your day dreaming of yummy things to eat only to have them backfire on you.
The only thing that has worked for me has been TUMS – specifically the Assorted Fruit kind. Haha I eat them like candy now. I tried other brands but for me at least – these fruit guys are ammmaazzziinggg!!
Another lovely addition to my day has been back pain! But Ive found the solution – go and see Annie at Sweet Momma Spa. There are two locations – one in South Edmonton and one in St. Albert and she splits her time between the two. She is an acupuncturist and this girl knows what she is doing! She also does conception acupuncture which I believe helped me! Plus she is hilarious- and literally tells it like it is. Every time I see her I fall more in love with her – and not just because she knows how to cure my back pain!
I’ve been trying to work out – but its been tough. Ive now gained about 30lbs and boy can I feel it – EVERYTHING I do results in me being embarrassingly out of breath. I try to get at least a 30 min walk in – but lets be real – often I fail at this haha but I have been aqua-sizing too! Even though its typically a seniors game – it’s the BEST. Your belly makes you float even more and its actually nice to be weightless for a bit! Plus – if you’re like me – you’re hot all the flipping time!! So the cool water is sooooo good!
As for clothes- my selections are becoming more and more limited by the day haha but my fav stores have been Thyme, Yo Mama, & Motherhood. Thyme on the Northside always has the best sales. Yo Mama is beautiful but sometimes expensive – although they have REALLY great sales (but they go quick!). Old Navy Maternity is great for active wear too – and often on sale! Also – if you need basic tanks – Ardene has great ones ( 3/ $15) that are not maternity but stretchy and long enough that they are great! My fav jeans have been the Jessica Simpson line that I found at Motherhood – they were about $75 for the pair and have lasted! Also – why I never wore maternity jeans before is beyond me – they are incredible – how will I ever go back to real pants?
Now to tackle my latest symptom…….a jump in shoe size. Yes – my feet have grown an entire size. I missed the day when they told us this too was a common symptom – and that they may never go back. I will keep you posted on this!
What symptoms have you had – and how did you tackle them?? I’m sure I’ve got many more coming my way !
