Jason Aldean is one of the top acts in country music today, and when the CMA Awards roll around you’d expect him to have at least a hand full of nominations right? Wrong. His name is no where to be seen and he isn’t happy about it.
He tells Rolling Stone Country “Obviously it’s disappointing. We’re still out there selling out shows. With maybe the exception of Luke, I don’t think there is anybody else out there that is doing the kind of touring numbers that we’re doing. It’s frustrating, man. But at the same time, I don’t know how … what do you do? Things like that are out of your hands.”
When the nominations were announced a couple weeks ago, fans noticed right away that Jason wasn’t nominated in ANY category and took to social media. “It does suck a little bit when awards season comes around and you feel like you’re as far as artists go, you’re up there at the cream of the crop, and to get overlooked like that is upsetting.”
But the “Burnin’ It Down” singer knows he’s not the only one. His buddy Tyler Farr, who’s touring with him right now, was also snubbed. “It is what it is,” Jason says. “You can b**** and complain about it, or you just go and keep doing things the way you always did.”
The CMA Awards will air November 5 on ABC.
