Dierks Bentley is this summer's Kenny Chesney

This summer is a strange one, in that there is no Kenny Chesney tour. I know right? The hitmaker who was named one of the 2000’s top ten touring acts of any genre in this article from Billboard has taken the year off from the road working on his follow up to 2013’s Life on a Rock.

That’s where Dierks Bentley comes in!  In an interview with Taste of Country, Dierks talked about how working with some younger artists who are out to kick his butt every night has energized him. “I just love it, man; it’s the best summer of my life, just getting out there and getting a chance to be in that Kenny Chesney role you know, where you’ve got the younger guys underneath you, and you get the chance to kind of show them how you do the road, and try to be as accommodating, and make sure they’re having a great time and they’re having fun out there, I just love being in that position.”

Those young guys in question would be Chris Young, Jon Pardi and Chase Rice; all out with Dierks on his RISER Tour.  More details on the trek here!  Check out the video for Dierks’ latest “Drunk on a Plane” below!
