Taylor Swift has canceled an upcoming show in Bangkok following the past few months of political unrest plaguing Thailand. The sold out show, originally scheduled for June 9th, would have marked Swift’s first performance in the country.
The mass anti-government protests over the last six months in Thailand has led to the removal of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra from office on May 7th and military-enforced curfew. Since the beginning of the protests there have been more than twenty four deaths and hundreds of injuries reported.
“I’m sending my love to the fans in Thailand. I’m so sad about the concert being canceled” Swift tweeted on Tuesday.
Taylor will be wrapping up the last part of her ‘Red‘ tour in Singapore on June 12th.
