As he first told The Holywood Reporter back in August of last year, Kenny Chesney is taking 2014 off from the road. Well…sort of! 2014 will mark just the second year since 2001 that Kenny will not be out on a U.S. coast to coast or international tour.
Kenny, who has said that his year away from touring will be spent working in the studio on a follow up to 2012’s Life on a Rock, has already been added to the start studded line-up for George Strait’s final show coming up June 7th in Dallas, Tx. Fans of Chesney’s will be glad to know they’ll get at least one more shot to see him perform live in 2014! Provided they get down to New Orleans and find a way in to an exclusive and pricey charity gig!
Kenny’s one night only, in fact one hour only, acoustic show will take place May 17th at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Tickets will cost a tidy $350 and Chesney’s set is just part of a benefit put together by two of Kenny’s best friends. Proceeds from the show will go to support actor Matthew McConaughey’s Just Keep Livin’ Foundation and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees’, the Brees Dream Foundation.
Kenny may not be on tour, but his own line of rum is! Check it out here!
